Below is a text of a Nov. 26, 2014 message from George Takach:

Have our elections been reduced to little more than popularity contests – filled with sound bites, attack ads and slogans?

Or, do issues and big ideas still matter when you go to the polls?

I believe that ideas and issues DO matter to Canadian voters – especially after almost a decade of Harper’s Government ruling this country in silence and secrecy.

I also believe that voters deserve to know where a candidate stands on the major issues and what ideas they’re bringing to the table – before they ask you to put a big X beside their name on a ballot.

To that end, I hosted a live public Telephone Town Hall forum on Monday evening, taking questions from Liberal members across Etobicoke-Lakeshore. It was a lively, interesting conversation and I truly enjoyed being able to discuss many of the issues concerning local residents like you.

We only have a few days left between now and the Nomination Meeting. When we vote on Sunday, let’s vote for the best candidate: the candidate who can win this riding back from Harper’s Conservatives in 2015.

Our party, our community and our riding deserve nothing less.

I hope I can count on your support on Sunday. I’m ready to go to work. This is our time to lead.

George Takach

PS

Remember, the Nomination Meeting is this Sunday, November 30th, Noon–4 pm, at Franklin Community Centre, 432 Horner Avenue. If you have questions or need a ride just email hello@vote4george.ca or call 416-892-1598.
