The following message is from Kathryn Hanford, Manager, Community Outreach, Greater Toronto Airports Authority. To ensure that site visitors can find the links readily, I have made the links more prominent, than they are in the original email. I have added the images, that you see on this page; they are not part of the original email from GTAA. The one exception is the Pearson Airport logo, which is included in the original email.

Community Environmental and Noise (CENAC) April 19 Meeting Follow-up

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for attending the Greater Toronto Airport Authority’s (GTAA) Community Environment and Noise Advisory Committee meeting on the evening of Wednesday, April 19.

At the conclusion of the meeting, we committed to sending a list of the follow-up action items that resulted from the meeting.

The list and responses can be found here >

This list also includes important updates on the noise studies currently underway at Toronto Pearson led by NAV CANADA and the GTAA.

Please let us know if there are any items from the meeting we have missed. The minutes will be uploaded shortly on the same page once they have been fully transcribed.

Phase 2 of the Rehabilitation work on Runway 05/23 has commenced and is expected to be completed by May 16, 2017. This runway is now completely closed while we do this work. As a result, for the duration of the rehabilitation project, communities to the north and south of the airport will experience more aircraft noise as a result of the increased use of the north/south runway.

More information about the Runway 05/23 Rehabilitation Project can be found here >

Your email address has been added to our distribution list for our monthly e-letter, Checking In, a way that residents can hear directly from us about relevant information about Toronto Pearson – airport events such CENAC meetings, Street Festival, Runway Run and Noise Management topics such as noise management reviews and public consultations. Please look for the upcoming edition to be sent out on Monday.

Residents who were not in attendance at the CENAC meeting but who would like to receive Checking In, can sign up here >

We thank you again for your patience as we work to quickly and safely complete the construction on our busiest runway and look forward to meeting you again at the next CENAC meeting.

Best,
