We will be sending playlists to our D.J. for the MCHS 2015 reunion soon; can you help us add more favourite songs?

One of our pages at the MCHS 2015 website is entitled:

Linking a favourite song to each of the MCHS Alumni and Teachers who have passed away

Gina (Davis) Cayer (MCHS ’67) is about to send playlists to James McDonough of Able Disc Jockeys, who will be our D.J. at the MCHS ’60s Reunion on Oct. 17 at Old Mill Toronto. James needs the playlists soon, so that he can be sure that all of the requested tunes are ready to go.

We have playlists ready to go for the dance portion of the evening, which starts at 9:00 pm and for the time, starting at 7:30 pm, when we are mixing and mingling in the course of the Humber Dinner Buffet. You can access the schedule of events at this previous post.

We also have a number of songs that are the favourite songs of students and staff who have passed away, as the link at the beginning of this blog post indicates.

Can you please quickly check this list (see below). If there are any more favourite songs, linked to students and teachers who have passed away, please send Jaan Pill an email at jpill@preservedstories.com at once, or send a text right away at 416-722-6630.

We much appreciate your help; please help us out with adding songs to this list, if you can. You can make a big difference in the work we are doing together.

Here’s what we have to date, at the above-noted post:

Our list (as of Sept. 14, 2015):

1) Michael Fehringer (1972) – recording by the group “The Ventures” from the ’60s

The Ventures – Wipe Out

2) Pam Gardiner Chapatis class of 1963 – anything Patsy Cline

3) Harry Boshouwers (MCHS ’63) loved the record Spanish Harlem by Ben E. King

4) Bonnie Wilson (MCHS ’64) – My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean

5) As well, Steven Lesser has shared a favourite song, “Donald Where’s Your Troosers,” that Mr. Kelly enjoyed, as described at previous post:

Steven Lesser has shared a great comment regarding MCHS dress codes (and a second great comment about a favourite song)

Perhaps the most popular version of the song, Steven Lesser notes, is the one sung by Andy Stewart:

Andy Stewart – Donald Where’s Your Troosers

Let’s keep Daniel Habib in mind for a future reunion or mini-reunion. I’m sure there will be many such events down the road.

In the meantime, we will post photos and stories from the event, after it’s been held, so that non-attendees can get a sense of the activities at the Oct. 17, 2015 MCHS ’60s Reunion at Old Mill Toronto.

We are delighted to be part of a network of MCHS alumni, a network that extends around the world. We have reason to keep in touch – through social media even if we do not always have the opportunity to meet face to face.
