The Long Branch Tree Fest is going to be the place to be Sunday afternoon!
We are just one night away from the 1st Tree Fest in Long Branch and what we believe will be the biggest Tree Fest of its kind in Ontario. On Sunday, September 22nd from 12 – 4pm Marie Curtis Park is going to come alive with over 50 Exhibitors and Vendors and activities!! This free, fun, family friendly, educational event has something for everyone of all ages and is a celebration of trees and nature.
PLUS we will be celebrating the 135th Birthday of Long Branch with cake and cupcakes!

Here are just some of the events and activities taking place that day:
- Outdoor stage with live music from Jack Antler; Expressions Barbershop Quartet; and Robert Davis who will also be our Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon
- Face painting by “Doodlebug”
- Children’s stories under a tree by our librarians from the Long Branch Library
- Four guided tree identification walking tours of the unique species in Marie Curtis Park with Lam, the Education Coordinator at LEAF – learn tree facts to impress your family & friends
- Bring any questions about your trees or our Urban Forest to our “Ask an Arborist” booth by Bruce Tree Experts
- Enter a draw for Free Native Trees grown by one of our Partners
- Plant your own tree from seed and watch it grow!!
- Learn about Backyard Biodiversity and get a free native shrub (while they last) from LEAF
- Plant and seed exchange by LEGs (Lakeshore Enviornmental Gardening Society)
- Learn how to request a City Tree in front of your property and what species are available
- See some of the preliminary data collected by our Summer Students as part of the University of Toronto Neighbourwoods Tree Inventory Study
- Children’s crafts and activities throughout the afternoon
- Foster a Native Species Tree from Seed to Sapling
- Join in a yoga class in the park by ALIVE Yoga (please bring your own mat)
- Learn about the City of Toronto environmental programs, including PollinateTO
- Bring a drum and participate in a Drumming Circle
- Youth Open Mic for all the young talented musicians in our neighbourhood and surrounding area
- Get a drink or fill up your water bottles from the City of Toronto “HTO to GO” (has water bowls for your pets as well

This is an outdoor festival so please come prepared with comfortable shoes, folding chairs or blankets to sit on the grass and enjoy the festivities and your own water bottles / coffee cup. Well behaved pets are welcome. Please take any waste with you or dispose of it properly. Let’s leave our park clean!
The Sunset Cafe will be open so you can enjoy burgers and hot dogs, drinks and snacks (including vegetarian options) while enjoying the Activities during the Tree Fest. There are also 2 washrooms and hand washing stations.
This event is being organized by the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association with funding generously provided by the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation; the City of Toronto; TD Parks People and Toronto Pearson.
