Zoom session about Long Branch and climate change – Thursday, July 23 @ 7 – 8pm followed by Q&A
Following message is from the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association:
What you can’t afford not to know about Long Branch and Climate Change
If you are like many of us, we think of Climate Change as something that is impacting parts of the world far away from us and/or will affect us many years down the road. We’ll worry about it later.
However, just before the current pandemic arrived, Toronto declared a Climate Emergency. Although much of this has been lost in the necessary immediacy of COVID-19, there are a number of positive actions we can be doing now to help our community to address Climate Change. Small actions now that will result in big changes for us as individuals and as a community in the coming few months and years.
During this interactive, workshop led by Jonathan Dionne our Tree Stewardship Program Lead and University of Toronto Urban Forestry Masters Candidate we will find out:
How neighbourhoods, such as Long Branch, affect Climate Change
Where Long Branch stands relative to other communities and what we can do to help address the impacts of Climate Change
What influences water run off and how trees can help manage run off and keep our lake and beaches clean for swimming and for wildlife
And lots more!
Register now. Looking forward to seeing you there!
