I am pleased to share with you the following message from John Kovac (MCHS 1971):

We would like your readers to know about the Class of 71 Reunion 50, to be held this coming Labour Day weekend in Montreal.

To date, we have 100 classmates, plus spouses/ partners , who have indicated that they will attend.

We have the names of a number of graduates who cannot be reached because we do not have addresses, phone numbers or email. I can provide the list of those names.

In addition , we are looking for teachers who taught at MCHS from 1967-1971.

Looking forward to hearing from all. John Kovac, class of 71. johnkovac50@gmail.com

Montreal bagels

Given that the Class of 71 Reunion 50 is in Montreal, attendees will have no problem finding Montreal Bagels. During the planning for the MCHS 2015 Sixties Reunion which took place in Toronto, we spent a lot of time researching bagel shops in Toronto:

Where can you find bagels in Toronto, like the ones in Montreal?

Can you share organizing advice with John Kovac?

John is keen to speak with organizers of past reunions. I’ve shared some insights of my own, as one of the organizers of the MCHS 2015 Sixties Reunion in Toronto. I’ve also shared names of other grads who’ve achieved success in the organizing of past MCHS get togethers.

If you have organized a past MCHS reunion or mini-reunion, and have not yet shared advice and reflections with John Kovac, please do contact him. As MCHS grads, we have a lot to learn from each other!

Once the vaccination stage has been completed, we look forward to again scheduling MCHS luncheons, which we have enjoyed organizing for several years in Toronto, Kitchener, Woodstock, and Stratford before the current pandemic era made its presence known. Our most recent such get togethers were in Toronto and Stratford:

MCHS picnics took place at Cliff Lumsdon Park in Toronto on Sept. 24, 2020 and in Stratford on Sept. 30, 2020

Please contact me at jpill@preservedstories.com or via this website if you wish to be on the mailing list for these MCHS luncheons in Southern Ontario. (We are also planning a luncheon down the road in Ottawa with a couple of 1960s MCHS teachers joining us for what promises to be an exciting event.)

That’s great news. When we had our 1972 reunion in 2000 I remember lots of Grads from 1971 were in attendance. Just saying. Good luck with the plans.
