MRA’s Mimico 20/20 height and density survey report (November 2012)

The Mimico Residents Association (MRA) has released a report of based on its Mimico 20/20 survey from November 2012:

The MRA has provided the following summary:

  • The majority (64.7%) of respondents disagree to strongly disagree that height of 16-25 storeys is appropriate for the locations indicated in the Plan.
  • The majority (63.6%) of respondents disagree to strongly disagree that the proposed quantity of tall (16-25 storey) buildings  is appropriate  for the locations indicated in the Plan.
  • Just over 50% of respondents disagree to strongly disagree that the proposed height of 10-15 storey buildings is appropriate for the locations indicated in the Plan.
  • 51.2% of respondents disagree to strongly disagree that the proposed quantity of 10-15 storey buildings is appropriate  for the locations indicated in the Plan.
  • The majority of respondents agree to strongly agree (54.2%) that the mid-rise heights of 5-9 storeys that were proposed are appropriate for the West side of Lake Shore Blvd. in locations as indicated in the Plan.
  • 47.5% of respondents agree to strongly agree, while 40.6% of respondents disagree to strongly disagree, that the proposed green and open space public space around and between the new buildings is appropriate for the neighbourhood.
