Small Arms Building Creative Hub Comes Alive
More than just a new coat of paint. It seemed like over the winter, the building stood dormant, waiting for the moment that Spring would breathe new life into the earth and into this the sleeping structure. But inside, work was furiously being done to remediate and rehabilitate this beautiful, abandoned edifice that carried within it, the memories, stories and the legacy of the men and women of the community, the city, the country.
The Small Arms Society is excitedly awaiting the completion of the Phase 1 remediation of the building by the City of Mississauga and the Official Opening in June 2018. It will be a milestone moment for the many residents and community members who fought to save the building from demolition and have it re adapted into a Creative Hub for the intersection of the arts, culture, heritage, environmental sciences and technology.
