We are planning to meet for Brunch at 11:00 am on October 18, 2015, the day after the reunion, at the Old Mill Toronto Dining Room:

Meet for Sunday Brunch Buffet at Old Mill Toronto

We have reserved a table for 20 for now; we will adjust the numbers as required. The buffet is $34.95. We’ve reserved a table at a room on the second floor, offering a great view of the Humber River and other natural features of the area.

Prior to the Buffet, we will meet at 10:30 am outside Old Mill Toronto, near the bridge at the foot of Old Mill Road, for a 30-minute Humber River walk. There’s much to be said for being out in nature. Our reunion is taking place in a natural setting, a green space in the heart of an urban environment. As a June 15, 2015 Atlantic magazine article notes, “spending time in nature is correlated with better mental health, attention, and mood in both children and adults.”

Among other things during our walk we will briefly mention Étienne Brûlé’s visit to this area 400 years ago:

The year 2015 marks the 400th anniversary of Étienne Brûlé’s expedition from Orillia to Lake Ontario in 1615

Étienne Brûlé / First Nations event took place on Sept. 13, 2015 at 222 Riverside Drive
