A July 25, 2013 CBC article regarding recent trash talk in Etobicoke can be accessed here.

The headline and subhead read as follows:

City garbage truck stunt a misuse of resources, Milczyn says

Contracted GFL truck called in for Progressive Conservative press conference

The opening four paragraphs read as follows:

Provincial Liberal candidate Peter Milczyn says he will file a complaint with Toronto’s integrity commissioner over an alleged misuse of city resources after a garbage truck contracted by the city was requested for a Progressive Conservative photo-op.

On Wednesday, PC Etobicoke-Lakeshore byelection candidate Doug Holyday and Party Leader Tim Hudak held a tongue-in-cheek press conference in front of a Green For Life (GFL) garbage truck prominently displaying the City of Toronto logo.

GFL is contracted by the city for residential garbage collection in the city’s west end. The company was awarded the contact over unionized city workers last year. Mayor Rob Ford, who ran on a pro-privatization mayoralty campaign, called it a “great day for the city of Toronto” when GFL took over the contract.

Milczyn is now calling on the Holyday — an ally of Ford who served as his deputy mayor — to clarify the use of city resources.
