Lakeview Waterfront Connection – Notice of Environmental Assessment Amendment
The following message (I’ve omitted periods after some of the links) is from Credit Valley Conservation. I admire the communications from CVC as I have mentioned in previous posts related to the Lakeview Waterfront Connection project.
Why am I impressed? I am impressed because I enjoy seeing effective use of language. As a volunteer in years past, over a 25-year period I have focused, with a good measure of success, as measured by the effectiveness of the interviews that I’ve lined up, on media relations on behalf of large-scale projects that I’ve been involved with.
When something is communicated well, where the all-important evidence indicates the rhetoric of the message matches the reality that is behind the story, I pay close attention.
I love to see words used effectively and I’m aware of what is required to craft such messages with integrity – in reality, as contrasted to the appearance of integrity, which is easy enough to craft – and close attention to detail. Whether you as a site visitor notice such things or not I would not know. I can only speak in such contexts of my own particular, anecdotal experiences.

Notice of Amendment to Environmental Assessment
Proposed New Construction Access Route
Credit Valley Conservation and the Region of Peel plan to create a beautiful and naturalized conservation area that will transform Mississauga’s Lakeview neighbourhood into a hub for passive waterfront recreation, a hotspot for wildlife migration and a green oasis in the heart of the city. The Lakeview Waterfront Connection (LWC) Project Environmental Assessment (EA) was approved on May 27, 2015. The project team has progressed with the detailed design of the new conservation area and plan to start construction in 2016. The project team is proposing a modification to the construction access route, which will involve an amendment to the approved LWC EA as per the amending procedures (Chapter 9 of the LWC EA).
Details of the EA amendment can be accessed online at http://lakeviewwaterfrontconnection.ca
The review period for the EA amendment begins Friday, November 27, 2015 at Noon and ends January 4, 2016. Comments about the proposed new construction access route must be submitted in writing, on or before January 4, 2016.
