Join us for a clean-up of the Marie Curtis Park beaches (east and west) on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 10am to 12pm
A group of Long Branch residents are helping to organize a clean-up of the Marie Curtis Park beaches (east and west) on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 10am to 12pm.
Please join us for this great community event. Help keep our lake clean and our beaches free of plastic and debris! Please bring heavy duty garbage bags, work gloves, and your family and friends. Hope to see you there!
The clean-up event is being organized by Long Branch residents Ryan Hryciuk and Jennifer Paul along with another local resident, Whitney Pyper. Whitney helped organize the last few clean ups – there was one in March and one in April. The clean-up is very much a community effort. The aim of the project is to get the neighbourhood together and make a real impact.
“We are contacting a lot of environmental groups,” notes Jennifer Paul, “as well as community organizations and businesses to help spread the word through newsletters and social media. Hopefully we can get a lot of people out and make a real impact.”
If you have has any questions, please send a note through the event page – Marie Curtis Park Beach Clean-Up – or send a message to Jennifer Paul at jen@bandada.ca
I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to help to publicize this community initiative.
