What a great story (see link in first sentence at this post)!
I am hugely impressed. This is a historically significant building that was saved from demolition in 2008, when an attentive citizen, driving her daughter to a nearby GO station, noticed a demolition company truck at the site.
Jim Tovey, at that time president of the Lakeview Ratepayers Association was alerted. He knew who to call! The planned demolition was halted at once. This is an awesome story.
I am so pleased I’ve had the opportunity to document the Small Arms Inspection Building story, starting from the time that I first attended an Open House at the building, and met Jim Tovey for the first time. That would have been a few years after 2008.
