Graeme Decarie reports: I’m now considering a move to Montreal or Ottawa. Moncton is boring.

I am pleased to share the following message from the retired Concordia University history professor Graeme Decarie

I’ve just been reading happy birthday e mails for August 27, 2018.

I was surprised to find one just now from Diane Fagg. But it’s for August 27, 2017. I’m sure I didn’t see that last year – and it’s now so old, I doubt whether Diane will see my answer.

So here it is, Diane. And thank you. It was good to hear from you.

I’m astonished at the number of them and how so many people knew it was my birthday. I’ve been answering them for two days, and still have a way to go.

I’m now considering a move to Montreal or Ottawa. Moncton is boring.

    Dear Professor Decarie – Roy Mercado from Montreal (Ville Lorraine actually) reaching out to you following a long dry spell. Hope you do consider Montreal ….or Ottawa both still wonderful places.

    No longer work for the irvings and still working on my writing. Presently developing screenplay outlines of all my works in the hopes and belief that a condensed form may be the best way to stimulate interest. Appears my target audience like things plain and simple.

    Wishing you the best,

    Roy (from Malcolm Campbell & 1963}

    Please pass on my thanks to Roy Mercado for his letter. (I can’t figure out how to address one to him.)
    Graeme Decarie writes (via email to Jaan Pill):

    Interesting that he’s deep in writing. Alas! I realized long ago that my writing was best confined to Reader’s Digest stories and cheques that bounced.

    Let’s see now, anybody in those classes must now be 70 or better. Luckily, I don’t look a day over a hundred (unless the lighting is good.)

    We’re all getting on, Graeme & Roy.

    We’re currently enjoying a stay at a cottage north of Peterborough. Nice and quiet. Of course, we constantly travel back and forth to Toronto,

    I’ve learned to use the Google Maps feature on the iPhone. I drive, and the phone tells me where to turn.

    Jaan, you said here, “we are all getting on” and that was almost two years ago…just to let you know I am thinking of getting off and starting over again, however, I need your advice on how to do that.
