In Situ 2018: Making Space. Making Place. Nov. 8 and 9, 7:00 – 11:00 pm; Nov. 10, 7:00 pm – midnight
Our multi arts festival is back! Once again come celebrate with us as over 300 artists and entrepreneurs animate the partially retrofitted Small Arms Inspection Building with immersive, interactive site-specific dance, music, presentation, installation and more!
This three day multi arts festival will celebrate the potency of creativity across disciplines. In Situ artists responded to the question of ‘making space and making place’ from architectural, temporal, environmental, and political view points; from physiological, imaginary and disparate social locations. Each artist has created a landmark in the form of poetry, sound, visual imagery or movement to help us navigate the layers of space known as the Small Arms Inspection Building.
Celebrate as over 300 artists engage audiences with spoken word, art installation, textiles, graffiti art, dance, music, mime, theatre performances, skateboarders and even a bee keeper.
The festival not only highlights talented artists but students from Humber and Sheridan Colleges and Cawthra Park Senior Secondary school. Leading up to the evening festival performances, over 350 elementary and secondary students will participate in workshops led by In Situ artists and CreativeHub Resident artists.
The Small Arms Society celebrates the transformation and reanimation of this historical building as the CreativeHub 1352 for the community. SAS envisions this dynamic space as a place where activities honour the past, and provide a more robust sense of place and community identity for current and future generations. Proceeds from the 3-day event support the sustainability of future CreativeHub programs across the arts, heritage, environment and technology.
The Small Arms Society operates as CreativeHub1352 at the Small Arms Inspection Building, 1352 Lakeshore Rd. E. Mississauga, ON with funding support from the City of Mississauga.

The first night has been amazing! I hope your blogger friends come out for a great evening of art and entertainment.
Wonderful to hear that – as I expected – the event is off to a great start. I encourage everyone in Mississauga and nearby municipalities (such as at a big city that’s located to the east) to attend In Situ 2018!
