Holyday Voting Record Contradicts Leader Hudak and PC Party
(Etobicoke) Yesterday afternoon the Holyday campaign distributed materials on the PC’s “consistent support of subways”, but the only thing they highlighted was their candidate’s uneven record.
The materials mentioned a City of Toronto council vote on an amendment that would have authorized “the [TTC] to enter into discussion with Metrolinx to study the future feasibility of [an] extension to the TTC Bloor-Danforth Subway from Kennedy subway station north-eastward to the Scarborough Town Centre.” (PC Package, Agenda Item History – 2012.CC.17.1 Page 12 of 29)
Councillor Holyday voted against this feasibility study on the Scarborough subway – the same subway he is now calling a “priority transit project”.
Meanwhile Councillor and Liberal candidate Peter Milczyn voted for this study and other options for subways in the GTA.
“The new Ontario Liberal government and Premier Wynne has made it very clear that investing in new transit and transportation infrastructure must be a priority and I agree,” said Ontario Liberal candidate Peter Milczyn. “We need to work to create jobs right here in Etobicoke-Lakeshore because, like I said in Thursday’s debate, when a part of the GTA benefits, we all benefit.”
