This government is investing in education, starting with early childhood education and the rollout of full-day kindergarten in schools across Etobicoke-Lakeshore.

It’s a shame you are using this website to promote your personal political views, rather than historical events, as I thought I was intended to do.
The whole concept of this site is soiled by these types of posts – regardless of what party is being promoted/bashed.
Please rethink your decision to politicize this site, and I will reconsider my impending deletion of it off my favourite list.

I’m pleased to read your comments, Mike. I appreciate knowing your point of view.
I’ve explained my decision to support Peter Milczyn in the recent byelection:
http://preservedstories.com/2013/07/06/peter-milczyn-etobicoke-lakeshore-campaign-kick-off-bbq/
I developed an interest in local history in the Lakeshore communities when I became involved in a letter-writing campaign to ensure that the former Parkview School remains in public hands.
When I learned in October 2010 that the school was about to be sold, I embarked upon an intensive fact-finding project to learn as much as I could about the history of the Parkview School property. Many people helped me in that endeavour, and I began sharing what I was learning. Until that time, I had just a smattering of information about local history. Until that time, I didn’t give the topic a lot of thought.
As it happened, during her tenure as the Liberal MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, Laurel Broten ensured that the Province of Ontario would enable the sale of Parkview School from one school board to another. Because she helped the community in this highly significant way, I decided to support her, as a volunteer, in every way that I could; in turn, I supported Peter Milczyn when he ran for office in the recent byelection.
I’ve much enjoyed canvassing during the recent campaign, and in participating in Social Media efforts on behalf of the Liberal Candidate. It’s been a great learning experience for me.
I strongly urge others to become involved in local campaigns on behalf of their chose candidate, whoever that may be. Volunteering in campaigns is a way that we as Canadian residents can participate in a meaningful way in a civil society.
In the next while, I’ll be focusing mainly on completing several videos that deal with local history, in this community and elsewhere, and for a while will not be quite as active in posting items related to local history.
From time to time, I may express my political views during elections in which I participate as a volunteer.
It’s always great to have people reading the posts.
I’m hoping that you will visit the site from time to time, Mike.
Whether you follow my posts in future, or desist from following them, I much appreciate you letting me know your views about my use of the site to express my political views.
I wish you every success in your own efforts on behalf of the community.
Best,
Jaan
