Public Meeting January 15, 2014

The City of Toronto has completed the local air quality study for South Etobicoke, and the next step is to hold a public meeting to share the results.

The Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) has been monitoring the progress of this study since it started and we want to make sure South Etobicoke residents are able to attend this important public meeting.

TEA’s DeTOx Toronto Campaigner, Heather Marshall, will be attending the meeting on January 15th and we hope you can too!

The South Etobicoke Air Quality Study could not have been completed without the work of two fantastic City of Toronto departments: the Environment and Energy Office (EEO) and Toronto Public Health (TPH). This study looks at a range of air pollution sources including vehicle traffic, energy use and industrial emissions and then evaluates how these sources of pollution contribute to air quality and health risks.

If you have any questions about the details of the Jan. 15th meeting, please email the City of Toronto department in charge at teo@toronto.ca or visit their webpage. They should be posting an official meeting flyer with a detailed agenda online very soon.

This study can help us all work towards solutions to Toronto’s poor air quality and TEA will be there to help!
