Update – Air quality results for south Etobicoke. May 27, 2014 Toronto Environmental Alliance Meet & Greet event at LAMP
I attended a presentation by the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) in south Etobicoke a year ago, in May 2013. I was impressed with the quality and scope of information that Heather Marshall shared at that time. The work that TEA is doing is tremendously valuable and inspiring. Air quality is a topic that is of direct, urgent, and pertinent relevance to each of us. I’m a member of TEA and encourage you to join also. Membership information is included at the end of this post. The event referred to at this post is at 6:30 to 8:30 pm at LAMP on Tuesday, May 27.
I’m pleased to share with you the following message from Heather Marshall of the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA):
Hello South Etobicoke friends!
TEA is pleased to announce our Meet & Greet event in your neighbourhood this month! We will be holding the event at LAMP Community Health Centre on May 27th and the main topic of discussion will be air quality, including an update for TEA members on the recent air quality results for South Etobicoke.
The event is designed to be a casual opportunity for folks to meet TEA staff, learn more about the campaigns we work on, receive updates on topical issues like local air quality, ask questions and meet your neighbours!
You are all welcome to attend but the Meet & Greet will likely not provide any new information for the people on this email list as we already had a great meeting together. Nonetheless, you may know of others who weren’t able to attend or wish to continue the discussion! We have only booked a small room so it will be a cosy event with room for about 20 people.
Please take a look at our flyer (attached) and share as you see fit!
Lastly, if you would like me to share certain updates from your respective groups at our Meet & Greet, please email me with the details. Perhaps the complete streets event planned for September would be good to mention? I’ve also been following along with the ML ReadyMix issue as best I can.
Cheers,
Heather

A July 20, 2015 CBC article is entitled: “Canada can’t afford complacency on air pollution: CMAJ editorial: Air pollution a ‘silent killer’ that can exacerbate other health conditions.”
