Role play and drama offer a great way to communicate what has been learned in a classroom

A May 4, 2016 New York Times article is entitled: “To Help Students Learn, Engage the Emotions.”

As a person who spent a career in public education (it’s now been a decade since I retired), I really so much like this article. Among the activities that I (and my students) most enjoyed was the use of role play and drama as a way to communicate what has been learned, or to highlight the dynamics of what has been covered in a particular lesson. Drama so much engages a person’s emotions. On some days, I would say to myself, “What a job! I get paid to watch live drama. I love this job!”
