This project is called the Lakeview Waterfront Connection

We’re pleased to have the opportunity to share the following message, recently forwarded to us by Councillor Grimes’ office:

Hello,

Credit Valley Conservation on behalf of the Region of Peel and with the support of the City of Mississauga and Toronto and Region Conservation is embarking on a project involving the creation of a new park amenity along the Mississauga shoreline between Etobicoke Creek and the western harbour entrance to Lakefront Promenade. This project is called the Lakeview Waterfront Connection.

The Lakeview Waterfront Connection is subject to the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act as an Individual Environmental Assessment (EA). Ultimately through the EA process, a preferred alternative will be developed that serves the needs of multiple recreational functions (i.e. hiking, boating, cycling, etc.) and re-creates critical coastal habitats such as wetlands, forests and spawning areas.

The first step of the Lakeview Waterfront Connection EA is developing a Terms of Reference (ToR) for the project. Credit Valley Conservation and Toronto and Region Conservation will be hosting an upcoming Public Information Centre meant to engage the public and collect feedback that will help to formulate the ToR. For more information please visit www.creditvalleyca.ca/lwc or contact myself, Brooke Erickson (contact information below).

Thank you,

Brooke Erickson | Resources Planner, Waterfront | Watershed Management Division | Toronto and Region Conservation Authority |70 Canuck Avenue, Toronto, ON | M3K 2C5 | 416.661.6600, ext. 5581|
