“I saw this advert [for MPP Peter Milczyn’s June 14, 2017 event] and wondered if anyone would remember a girl in the fifties called Roberta Hopkins”

The advert is question is at this recent post:

MPP Peter Milczyn, Etobicoke-Lakeshore June Seniors’ Month Tea with special guest speaker, Wednesday, June 14, 2-4pm, Royal Canadian Legion on Jutland. RSVP BY FRIDAY, JUNE 9th

A comment from Karen Riddell at the latter post reads:

I saw this advert and wondered if anyone would remember a girl in the fifties called Roberta Hopkins. I am her daughter and have been trying to find her for a very long time. A long shot I know and perhaps not appropriate to ask but I thought ‘you never know’. Cheers Karen Riddell

It’s highly appropriate to ask, Karen.

I have posted your comment as a separate post, in order to bring attention to it:

“I saw this advert [for MPP Peter Milczyn’s June 14, 2017 event] and wondered if anyone would remember a girl in the fifties called Roberta Hopkins” [that is, the post you are now reading]

It’s well worth it to use the internet to help you with your search, as you are doing.

We don’t know what the odds are, and we have to be aware of that, but I would like to say that over the years, more than a few people have had the opportunity to reconnect with people, as a result of information that has, at one time or another, been shared at the Preserved Stories website. In some cases, it’s taken some time for the message to circulate, after which an answer has turned up. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
