Dear members of Toronto’s neighbourhood and community associations,

Heritage Toronto is kicking off its consultation process for the 2018/2019 State of Heritage report. The report, released every election year, incorporates public feedback and research to provide recommendations for the incoming City Council.

On Tuesday July 31st, join fellow Torontonians in a facilitated discussion designed to solicit broad ideas on how to improve the preservation and celebration of Heritage in the city. We welcome you to send representatives from your organization to this public forum, and request your assistance in spreading the word through your networks.

State of Heritage Public Forum

Tuesday July 31, 2018

The Great Hall

1087 Queen St W (Queen and Dovercourt)

6:00-8:30 pm

The event is free to all, but registration is appreciated! http://stateofheritageforum18.eventbrite.ca

If you cannot make it on July 31st, please fill out our survey: http://bit.ly/2LjNhsl – survey closes August 3rd!

This event is the first of several consultations aimed at soliciting thoughts and feedback. Following this public forum, we will be holding another public event in the Fall, as well as smaller, more focused stakeholder consultations throughout September. We will be contacting you with more information about those events closer to that date.

The purpose of the 2018/2019 report is to:

  • Follow up on recommendations made by Heritage Toronto in 2015
  • Offer City Council, senior staff, and decision makers a variety of views, gathered through research and stakeholder consultations, on what is and is not working pertaining to Toronto’s cultural, natural, architectural, and archaeological heritage
  • Inform City Council, senior staff, and decision makers how to best direct resources toward heritage conservation and celebration

For more information on the project, please visit: http://heritagetoronto.org/state-of-heritage-report-2019/

Hope to see you there!
