Thanks from Jim Tovey for volunteers who made May 28, 2016 Small Arms Jane’s Walk a terrific event
At the Gabriella Bank Facebook page featuring the photo, Jim Tovey has commented:
Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted in a terrific Janes Walk, Small Arms Society, Jaan Hendrik Pill, Lee Tovey, Diane LaPointe-Kay and Gabriella Bank for the beautiful photography. Several former WW II workers were also in attendance to tell their stories and have them recorded by Heritage Mississauga, Gabriella and Sandor. Kate Hayes from the Credit Valley Conservation Authority gave a fascinating presentation at the waterfront on the Lakeview Waterfront Connection. The construction of this new 64 acre conservation area will begin this month with the building of the access road through the Ontario Generating site. The lake fill of 1.5 million cubic metres will start in the early fall, most likely September.
