Stop 7.0 – May 4, 2014 Long Branch Jane’s Walk: Fair Grounds Cafe at 24th and Lake Shore

Hayley (featured in the two great videos - one is 30 seconds, the other 40 seconds - at this post: see the links below this photo) works at the new Fair Grounds Cafe at Twenty Fourth Street and Lake Shore Blvd. West in Long Branch. In a previous version of this caption, we misidentified the cafe as being in New Toronto. In fact, Twenty Third Street is at the eastern border of Long Branch. Twenty Fourth is west of Twenty Third, and thus is in Long Branch. Jaan Pill photo

Our seventh and final stop, at the Sunday, May 4, 2014 Jane’s Walk in Long Branch, which starts at 10:30 am at the East Parking Lot at Marie Curtis Park, will be at the Fair Grounds Organic Roastery and Cafe at Twenty Fourth Street and Lake Shore Blvd. West.

We’ve prepared two videos, each under a minute in length; click on the following two links to view them

The coffee shop opened recently. Here are a couple of very brief (under a minute) videos in which Hayley talks about her job at Fair Grounds:

Coffee drives the conversation at Fair Grounds Organic Roastery and Cafe, 24th and Lake Shore (short video)

Equality in the workforce in Canada – Fair Grounds Cafe, 24th and Lake Shore Blvd West (another short video)

Long Branch Jane’s Walks will start at 10:30 am on May 3 and 4 at Marie Curtis Park (East Parking Lot)

Our first walk in Long Branch, the Jane’s Walk on Saturday, May 3, will also start at 10:30 am.

The walk on May 3 will focus on the sand beach at Marie Curtis Park; the cottage country community that existed in the area until the 1950s; Inspiration Lakeview and the Lakeview Waterfront Connection Project in Mississauga; and Parkview School. The May 3rd walk will end at the Fair Grounds Organic Roastery and Cafe at Fortieth Street and Lake Shore Blvd. West.
