Many Jane’s Walks are planned for cities around the world during the first weekend in May, in celebration of the legacy of urbanist Jane Jacobs. For more information please check out the Jane’s Walk website.

Four events that I’m pleased to highlight are the following Jane’s Walks and an important Open House, presented by Etobicoke-Lakeshore MPP Peter Milczyn, concerned with changes to the Ontario Municipal Board:
1) MPP Peter Milczyn invites you to his Open House on Planning Reform, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 6:30 pm
This is an event that will be of interest to any person who is familiar with the Committee of Adjustment and the Ontario Municipal Board.
2) “Spaghetti Junction – The Farewell Tour” Jane’s Walk starts at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 2, 2015
Starts at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Starbucks on the south side of Dundas Street West near the Kipling subway. Etobicoke-Lakeshore MPP Peter Milczyn will lead the walk.
3) “New Toronto – Then and Now” Jane’s Walk starts at 1:3o pm on Saturday, May 2, 2015
Starts at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Assembly Hall at Kipling Avenue and Lake Shore Blvd. West. Mike James and Brian Liberty will lead the walk.
New Toronto – Then and Now – Jane’s Walk starting at 1:30 pm at Assembly Hall, Saturday, May 2, 2015
4) “Small Arms Building: Saved from Destruction in 2009” Jane’s Walk starts at 12:00 noon on Sunday, May 3, 2015
Several recent posts have highlighted the ongoing re-purposing of the Small Arms Building at Dixie Road and Lakeshore Road east in Mississauga. Councillor Jim Tovey will lead a Jane’s Walk focusing on the Small Arms Building, the Hanlan Water Project, and the Long Branch Rifles Ranges starting at 12:00 noon on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
